Excellent sound from a compact library

Where sophisticated string instruments and uncompromising sound quality are needed,

Chris Hein - Strings Compact is the right choice.

This library offers high quality solo instruments and ensembles with all the essential articulations to efficiently perform authentic-sounding string arrangements on your DAW.

Chris Hein - Strings Compact is the compressed version of the renowned libraries

Chris Hein - Solo Strings Complete and Chris Hein - Ensemble Strings . It contains them all the instruments and functions of its older brothers and is reduced to only the nine most common and important articulations. Of course, this compact version uses the same high quality samples as the full version.

So Chris Hein - Strings Compact offers the full sound of the large Chris String String libraries at an unbeatable price. Plus, of course you can upgrade to Chris Hein - Ensemble Strings or

Chris Hein - Solo Strings Complete with up to 49 articulations at any one time.

Solo and ensemble

The Chris Hein - Strings Compact contains four different violins, including the legendary

Chris Hein - Solo Violin , three violas, four cellos and three basses. In addition to detailed solo instruments, the library includes 14 sets that allow quick access to the sound of epic film scores or great orchestral works.

Chris Hein - Strings Compact is designed to be versatile and uncompromising: with a choice With 14 solo instruments and ensemble mixes each, almost any string ensemble instrumentation imaginable can be performed individually as desired. Ranging from a solo violin to small string quartets, chamber ensembles to large symphony orchestras, every imaginable combination of sonic colors for stringed instruments is possible.

All instruments offer identical programming of articulations and functions, which makes combining different instruments just child's play.

By simply duplicating a MIDI track, you can add a solo violin to a violin ensemble with the two sections playing perfectly together. It only takes a few clicks to create sets of any size. In addition, the built-in ensemble function further expands the variability of each instrument.

Variable Sound Modeling

Chris Hein - Strings Compact delivers both solo and orchestral string sounds to perfection. In addition to careful recordings and high-quality equipment being used, including microphones selected by Neumann, the musicians, mostly members of the renowned WDR symphony orchestra, significantly influence the results and aesthetics of the sound.

Combined with the dual convolution reverb sections of the sampling engine, the dry unprocessed sound of the library allows the instruments to be perfectly compatible with many different applications. Separate convolution sections for body sound (body) and room impression allow you to create almost infinite room impressions, ranging from intimate proximity to large orchestral rooms. In contrast to the fixed printed ambient sound of several competitors,Chris Hein - Strings Compact is very versatile in tonality and therefore can be easily combined with any other library.

In terms of sound quality and suitability for everyday use, the library makes no compromises, even in its compact size. Chris Hein's instruments - Strings Compact are based on a number of carefully crafted, crafted samples that deliver phase-correct mixes, crossfades and dynamic layers through detailed phase alignment. At the same time, up to eight dynamic layers provide authentic sound behavior, ranging from ppp to fff.

The undeniable highlights of this library are the true legato function, articulation changes by switches from keys, variable attacks per note, x-fade control via breath controller, legato portamento via damper pedal, selectable artificial vibrato, innovative game control via hotkeys and notes, plus remote MIDI controllability of each function via TouchOSC from an iPad.

Unique functions

Perfect dynamic transitions thanks to the alignment of phases

In a multi-month research process, all samples were carefully phase-aligned with each other. Consequently, the sound of the instruments convinces by seamless transitions between up to eight dynamic layers, without any tonal degradation.

Unique blending of long and short notes

Mixing short and long notes is a typical problem for many sample libraries when it comes to sonic authenticity. When playing real instruments, the duration of a played note influences its attack behavior and its ending. Chris Hein - Strings Compact addresses this aspect through the innovator

„Note Head Designer“. For each sustain articulation, you can call up corresponding short sample variations (Shorts) by a controller / controller. Not only do they offer the correct attacking behavior to match, they are also perfectly linked with respect to note length. User-defined selection of short variations, available in up to eight dynamic layers and their combination with the corresponding sustain phases, allow for fully realistic sonic results that cannot be achieved by typical random selection using round-robin techniques. Of course, Shorts can also be referred to as individual articulations.

True Legato

Chris Hein's instruments - Compact Strings offer true True Legato and zero latency and True Portamento, with various fine-tuning. Thanks to intelligent legato programming, even very fast passages can be played back without delay. In addition, legato mode can also be played polyphonic. Omit heavy loading of legato joints and separate polyphonic instruments. Portamento Library provides actual recorded portamento transitions that can be tweaked and tweaked in time and duration. In this way, every possible note transition can be performed by gliding - from fast finger legato to free short notes and slower swipes from note to note.

Legato and portamento are available for all articulations, no just to sustain. For example, when playing rails and tremolos with portamento, the resulting variation of note transitions is infinite and often not easy to accomplish with other libraries.

With its attractive prices, Chris Hein - Strings Compact addresses beginners, music updaters and composers looking for sample strings in high quality and practical usability, with efficient performance on mobile computer systems. It goes without saying that, in addition to full sound compatibility, you can upgrade to the big full versions at any time.
